the power of puff

in all honesty the whole local "hijab" scene is a huge fashion faux-pas. enough with the towering chamchoomas and heavy feathered weights ...please>.<;

As anyone who’s been to the Gulf lately will have noticed, something’s up – quite literally – with the local hijab.  After a half-decade of explosive innovations in color, prints, and surface embellishment, headscarf styling in the Khaleej has boldly entered the third dimension.  Some might argue that the veil’s new gravity-defying form is better suited to the twilight zone than the no-fly zone; still others might praise its queenly proportions.  But one thing is for sure: from sidewalk to mallwalk to university hall, “big hijab” is making an indelible mark on our concept of Islamic chic.  And whether you love the new look or pray that it goes away, this head-y mixture of bombast and discretion might just be the perfect expression of twenty-first century Gulf femininity. ...read more at diadiwan

Coming from Kuwait, I can tell you, i think it was invented here, and apparently they use yogurt cartons to prop the hijab up..

i've seen girls in toilets attempting to restyle their veils only to disclose a garden of flowers growing from their hair, freaky! but apparently big flower shabaassas are the only way to get that big "taafkhaa"...

in the summer, i've noticed a new khaleeji take on the hijab bo-tafkha trend, a la shower cap bo-tafkha! -nothing on the neck or ears, and something that looks like a huge shower cap that holds most of their hair, one girl's shower cap was "strasss-izied" with shiny gemstones..

freaky..

The Prophet pbuh foretold us about this....And it only means one thing: that the judgement day is ever so near. Hijab is about covering ones' beauty not embalishing it.
However, there are other things that girls now adays do eventhough they 'pretend' to be muta7jibat such as skinny jeans!These jeans show more than what they hide. And the Hijab where girls cover their hair but show a part of their neck??? So, 'elqambo3a' isn't the only thing to critize about hijab nowadays...Allah yahdy el jamee3!!
